S479 Stock Control and Point of Sale System
S.L. Electrotech's Stock Control and Point of Sale System is designed for the small shopkeeper, and
offers a budget-priced alternative to conventional systems.
The system runs on a desktop PC under Microsoft Windows, and does not require a separate till. Transactions are
clearly displayed on the PC's screen. Data entry is via a barcode scanner and the function keys on the keyboard.
Receipts are printed on a dedicated receipt printer, which controls a lockable cash drawer.
Information about stock items and transactions is held in
a Microsoft Access database. As details of suppliers and their
products are entered, each product is assigned a unique stock
code, which can be printed in barcode form on a dedicated
barcode printer.
Transactions supported include Sales, Returns to Supplier,
Returns to Shop, Additions to Stock, Lost Items and Refunds.
A wide variety of reports are available, including a Daily Report of transactions, including
details of money to be banked. Stock Reports for all or individal suppliers, and Transaction
Reports by supplier and product. These can be for the current day, last week, last month or
for all the dates.
Transactions can be made by cash, card or cheque, and these payment methods are recorded
in the database.
A re-order level can be specified for each item of stock , triggering a re-order warning.
The system is ideal for use in a social enterprise, and has been developed in conjunction
with Staffordshire County Council Social Services.
